George Galanos is an economist and Associate Professor specializing in “Economic Policy and Competitiveness” at the Department of International and European Studies, University of Piraeus. He studied economics at the University of Piraeus, holds an MBA (Tourism Management focus) and a PhD (International Economics & Tourism Competitiveness). He serves on the Academic Council of the Wilfried Martens Centre for European Studies.
He has presented at numerous international conferences and published widely on topics including ONE (Open Networked Environment), the economic and governance crisis in the Eurozone, and foreign direct investment. He has extensive experience in project management and consulting for public and private organizations on technical/administrative monitoring of development projects and EU/national programmes, with long-standing expertise in organizing and leading project teams.
